Beyerdynamic DT290 / 250 Ohm

For reportage and director communications, speech and monitoring need to remain clear even in the presence of ambient noise. The Beyerdynamic DT290 / 250 Ohm combines a closed, circumaural headphone with a dynamic microphone featuring a hypercardioid polar pattern. The closed-back design with ambient noise isolation supports use in radio and television production, as well as in intercom and talkback systems.

The microphone boom can be rotated and positioned on the left or right; when not in use, you can move it upwards. Its flexible gooseneck helps you position the capsule as required, while the elastic suspension isolates the boom. The dynamic microphone has a balanced output and can also be used with an unbalanced microphone input. The hypercardioid pattern focuses the voice pickup and is designed to provide high feedback rejection.

The headphone uses dynamic drivers and covers a frequency range of 10 to 30,000 Hz. The neodymium magnet system supports precise reproduction; the headphone is tuned for speech intelligibility. The single-sided main cable plugs into the headset, but is not included. Choose a connection cable that matches the inputs on your setup. The 250-ohm system should also be used with a suitable headphone output.

For longer sessions, the padded headband can be adjusted; soft, circumaural ear pads can be replaced using the click system. Other parts can also be replaced for maintenance or repair. The service-friendly design keeps the headset repairable, while its low weight of 240 g without cable helps ensure wearing comfort.

This makes the DT290 suitable for presenting, reportage and communication with director or intercom systems when a closed headset with a dynamic microphone is required. When choosing, pay particular attention to the 250-ohm impedance and the separately required connection cable.
