Product description ARX Audibox USB DI-HP
When connecting a computer to a balanced PA system, galvanic isolation can help reduce ground loops and interference noise. The ARX Audibox USB DI-HP converts USB audio into an analogue stereo signal and routes it through two XLR outputs. Its additional headphone output lets you monitor the signal directly on the device.
The computer connects via the USB-B port; power is also supplied via USB. The device operates as a 24-bit audio interface and requires no special driver installation on supported operating systems. A status LED indicates the connection and operation. USB-B port with bus power keeps the setup free of a separate power supply.
The two XLR outputs are transformer-balanced and galvanically isolated. A ground-lift switch can help with ground loops. The XLR outputs are suitable for connecting to balanced inputs on PA systems or other audio equipment. Two galvanically isolated XLR outputs provide the signal path from the computer to the system.
Two headphone sockets are available for monitoring: a 6.3 mm jack socket and a 3.5 mm mini-jack socket. The output level can be adjusted using a dedicated control; the headphone output is rated at up to 300 mW into 32 ohms. This lets you monitor the signal without additional monitor speakers. Adjustable headphone output with two sockets supports different headphone connections.
The casing is made of powder-coated steel and has a non-slip rubber base. A Kensington-compatible security slot is provided; an optional bracket allows mounting under a table. Steel casing with security slot is designed for use on stage and in permanent installations.
The USB DI-HP is suited to laptop setups where computer audio needs to be sent to a PA system as a balanced signal and monitored via headphones at the same time. A USB port and installed audio software are required; macOS and Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10 are supported. According to the product information, Windows 98SE requires driver installation from CD. Computer audio with direct headphone monitoring makes this model particularly interesting for mobile stage and PA setups.
