Product description ART USBMix
If you want to record a microphone or instrument and include playback from your computer directly in the same mix, the ART USB Mix provides three channels and a USB audio interface. This compact mixer digitises analogue input signals for your computer and can also be used as a stand-alone mixer without a computer via its Main Mix outputs.
Channel 1 has a balanced XLR input with switchable 48 V phantom power for microphones. The 6.3 mm jack socket on the same channel accepts instrument or line signals; use the impedance switch to choose between Hi-Z for instruments such as electric guitars and Line for sources with line-level signals. The two additional channels share a stereo pair of jack inputs, which can also be used in mono.
The mixer transmits audio signals to the computer via USB. USB playback can be assigned to channels 2 and 3, allowing you to include it in the mix. You can adjust the input, Main Mix and headphone levels independently; a two-colour LED indicates signal and clipping. For monitoring, there is a separate stereo headphone output with its own level control.
When connected to a computer, the device is powered via USB, so no external power supply is required. The included power supply can be used for operation without a computer. The USB interface complies with USB 2.0 and does not require special drivers with most modern versions of Windows, Mac and Linux. USB playback and analogue sources can be monitored together, while the Main Mix outputs also send the mixed signal path to amplifiers, active monitors or another recording system.
With an XLR microphone input, a switchable instrument/line input and stereo line channels, the ART USBMix is suited to compact recording and mobile setups. The combination of USB recording and stand-alone mixer operation is particularly practical when you want to record sources on your computer while monitoring them via separate Main and headphone outputs.
