A mobile DJ job can quickly turn into a small production hub: music, announcements, additional performers, multiple speaker zones and sometimes a second computer all need to be brought together seamlessly. To achieve this, the Roland DJ-707M combines four-deck control for Serato DJ Pro, an audio interface and routing tools in a controller that fits even in cramped DJ booths. Audio routing with saved scenes Ten scenes store settings for routing, speaker management and recurring setups. This saves time at events with similar configurations, as a pre-prepared setup can be recalled directly. For changing locations, the scene memory with ten storage slots is particularly practical. Master, Booth and Zone outputs can be managed separately. Each of these outputs features a 4-band EQ, multiband compressor, limiter and mono mode. The Zone output can be used to provide sound for a separate area, supply a signal for video recording or feed a subwoofer. Microphones and external players Two XLR microphone inputs are available for hosting, announcements or shouts. Gain, low-cut and noise gate can be adjusted per channel; in addition, there is a 3-band EQ and effects such as reverb, delay, auto-pitch or auto-ducking. The microphone processing directly on the controller keeps your setup uncluttered. Two additional microphones can be connected via the front 6.3 mm AUX inputs when in Mic mode. This allows the controller to process up to four microphones. Two computers and connections for the event The two USB-B ports allow for a seamless computer handover and keep a second laptop ready as a backup. One USB port also functions as a bidirectional audio interface with an iOS device. This facilitates the integration of a mobile device for playback or streaming. For sound reinforcement, there is a balanced XLR master output, an additional RCA master output, a balanced Booth output and an RCA Zone output. Deck 3 brings integrated TR drums with loops in the style of the TR-808 and TR-909 into your set. On Deck 4, sound effects like sweepers and synth stabs are available in OSC mode.
