Allen & Heath Xone:96 - Product Presentation of the New DJ Mixer
Allen & Heath announced the Xone:96 mixer, the first major upgrade to the Xone:92 since its release in 2003. The update retains the familiar 92 layout and adds some additional performance tools and features to adapt the mixer to the needs of modern DJs.
The most obvious addition is the dual USB port, which allows two DJs to switch directly from their computer and utilize up to six channels of their software DJ through a single cable. Each of the sound cards is 32-bit and can operate independently of each other.
Another enhancement is the Crunch knob, which adds some harmonic distortions to the famous Xone analog filters. Additionally, there's a new three-band equalizer for the output, and finally, you can adjust the fader slope!
The send and return options have been expanded by adding a send and return master in addition to the four S/R channels. Additionally, there's also a connection called "Audio Sync Out" of 3.5mm, which we presume is related to Euroracks or any other hardware compatible with this connection.
It seems Allen & Heath has listened to their users, and the focus on the performance of this new team has been clearly influenced by the change that modern DJs are experiencing, especially when integrating hardware and studio technology into their live performances.
The expected retail price is about €1800, and the first delivery is expected by the end of September 2018.
