Product description Allen & Heath Patchbay Xone PB

With permanently installed club mixers, changing DJs often takes time if cables have to be reconnected for a DVS setup. The passive Allen & Heath Patchbay Xone PB brings these connections together in a 19-inch rack unit with 1U and makes it easier to switch between connected audio sources and external DJ systems.

Up to four audio sources can be connected to the mixer inputs via RCA connectors. The connections on the front mirror the source outputs on the left; on the right, you can connect up to four external sources. Switches on the front determine whether the mixer inputs are connected directly to the audio sources or switched to external sources.

The audio source outputs are duplicated on the front. This lets you connect two scratch amplifiers or audio interfaces to the same source, for example to switch between two DVS systems when changing DJs. Switching is handled by the patchbay, without having to redo the wiring on the permanently installed mixer.

Two switchable, inverted RIAA filters allow you to connect line-level devices to the mixer's phono preamps. A shared filter system reduces interference at all external inputs and can particularly help reduce interference from laptop power supplies. If needed, you can use the ground switch to break a ground connection and avoid ground loops.

The Xone PB is suitable for club and DJ booths with a permanently installed mixer when you want to connect changing DVS setups without rewiring. The key considerations are the required RCA connections, up to four audio sources and the option to connect two external systems in parallel to the duplicated source outputs.

A light bar can illuminate a stage broadly or form sharply defined beams from a few points. The Eurolite LED BAR-8 ABL SWING QCL separates exactly these two tasks: eight RGBW beams meet a cool white strobe with segmented control. This creates directed accents as well as bright, widely scattering flashes. Eight individually controllable RGBW beams Each of the eight spotlights operates with an 8 W 4-in-1 RGBW LED and can be controlled individually. The narrow beam angle of 1° significantly focuses the beams, so that they appear clearer in the room, in front of a back wall, or in combination with haze than a wide wash. The colour mixing, the electronic dimmer, and the colour changes can be used directly on the device or via a light controller. The tilt range of up to 215° changes the direction of the entire beam row and helps to adapt the effect to the installation height and the audience's viewing angle. Strobe across the entire width For contrast to the narrow colour beams, a cool white strobe module is integrated into the bar. Its 175 SMD LEDs are distributed over seven individually controllable segments and operate with a beam angle of 120°. This allows the strobe to be used as a broad area or in segmented chase patterns. The stroboscope rate ranges from 0.35 to 20 Hz. Together with colour fades, uplight and beam effects, the combination brings more movement to small stage setups without the need to set up several different effect devices. DMX, standalone and wireless expansion For programmed shows, five DMX modes from 8 to 49 channels are available. This allows the bar to be integrated compactly into an existing setup depending on the effort required, or to be controlled with detailed channel allocation for individual beams and strobe segments. Without a console, five integrated show programmes, 18 preset colours, music control via microphone and master/slave are available. IR control is intended for quick adjustments; QuickDMX, W-DMX and CRMX can be added if required via optional USB solutions. Made for setup The mounting bracket allows for standing or flying installation. P-Con for power input and output simplifies the cabling of multiple devices, as up to eight bars can be connected according to the manufacturer. DMX is looped through via 3-pin XLR. The passive convection cooling works without fans. At 7.30 kg and 100 cm in length, the unit remains easy to transport, but due to the directed beams, it requires deliberate alignment rather than arbitrary placement as a pure surface light.
