About us
History
GSM-Multimedia was founded on 24.06.94 in Dingolfing. At the beginning, we focused mainly on flight cases and record bags, but over the years our range has developed and now covers the entire spectrum in the DJ and club sector and increasingly also in producing/studio.
Since our foundation in 1994, we have been serving both end customers in the fields of DJ, club and gastronomy, shopfitting and TV/broadcasting as well as resellers and installation companies. After more than 20 years, we can now rely on a Europe-wide distribution network and count almost all well-known DJs and professional dealers among our customers.
Milestones
August 1995:
The success story begins: GSM-Multimedia receives the exclusive distribution rights for Amabilia flight cases in Germany. With the establishment of the first wholesale network, we laid the foundation for our future growth.
November 1998:
We take over the general distribution in Germany for MaishMereau products and thus become the first professional provider of record bags in Germany – a milestone for DJs and music lovers.
February 2000:
With Ultimate-DJ-Gear (UDG) we secure another general agency for the German-speaking region. The distribution of the complete product range strengthens our market position in the DJ bag and DJ case segment considerably.
October 2000:
Visionary and early on the market: Under www.recordcase.de we go online and for the first time open up worldwide access to our range for our customers.
January 2001:
Recordcase.de evolves: A dedicated dealer area now enables resellers to conveniently order online.
March 2002:
Change of generations: Hans Söllner officially takes over management and leads the company into a new growth phase.
August 2002:
A strong signal for the future: With the laying of the foundation stone for the new company building in Landau/Isar, a new era begins.
January 2003:
The move is complete: We move into modern offices and spacious storage facilities at the Landau/Isar site.
February 2005:
With Zomo we establish our own brand for record bags, flight cases and accessories. Our experience flows into product development and secures our market leadership in this segment.
June 2005:
With the general distribution of Sefour UK we expand our range with high-quality DJ furniture and accessories – and further strengthen our market leadership.
August 2005:
Takeover of German distribution for Freefloat air cushions.
October 2005:
Founding of GSM-Multimedia GmbH. All business areas are integrated, the sole proprietorship remains as a leasing company.
November 2005:
With Space-Tek we expand our range with innovative equipment carriers for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
January 2006:
Exclusive distribution for Redsound in the German-speaking region. The patented innovations enjoy cult status among DJs worldwide.
April 2006:
Sales partnership with Grip Cologne DJ bags.
December 2006:
Start of construction for the company expansion in Landau/Isar – a clear commitment to the location.
May 2007:
“The original Spindoctor” is distributed exclusively in Europe by GSM-Multimedia.
June 2007:
Great success: In Ibiza, GSM-Multimedia receives the Pioneer Forward Award – as the best German Pioneer dealer. We achieve 2nd place Europe-wide.
July 2007:
Opening of the expanded company headquarters: Over 3,000 m² of storage space and 1,000 m² of exhibition and administration space are now available.
August 2007:
With the founding of the Antoc brand we tap into new segments in pro audio and lighting systems.
November 2007:
GSM-Multimedia takes over the area of production and distribution of slipmats from US-Imports (Belgium) and thus becomes the world’s largest manufacturer. The new brand Slipmat-Factory is created.
June 2008:
Exclusive distribution of Decksaver in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy.
March 2009:
Launch of our second webshop: www.dj-deals.de.
May 2009:
Another milestone: GSM-Multimedia receives the Pioneer Forward Award 2009 as the most successful German Pioneer dealer. Once again, we take second place Europe-wide.
June 2010:
For the third time in a row GSM-Multimedia is awarded as the most successful German Pioneer dealer – and receives the Pioneer Forward Award 2010.
September 2010:
With the introduction of our own Zomo DJ furniture (Berlin, Miami, Ibiza series) we expand our portfolio and set new standards in the market.
May 2011:
Exclusive distribution for Hercules DJ products from Guillemot. A further strengthening of our position in the digital DJ segment.
November 2014:
We add DJ-Tech to our wholesale range and become exclusive distributor for DACH and BeNeLux.
December 2015:
Recordcase.de is awarded as Pioneer DJ Premium SD-Partner – as one of the few “DJ specialists” in Germany.
August 2016:
With the brand PEP we expand our portfolio with high-quality cases and accessories at attractive prices.
October 2016:
Exclusive distribution of the Japanese high-end brand ORB. The innovative vinyl flatteners are world leaders.
March 2017:
Admission into the exclusive Denon Prime dealer network. Recordcase.de becomes a specialist for professional Denon DJ products.
April 2017:
Relaunch of www.recordcase.de with a new design and state-of-the-art technology for an optimal shopping experience.
May 2017:
Recordcase.de becomes an official MPC-Specialist-Center of Akai Professional.
June 2017:
Relaunch of www.zomo.de – with fresh design and latest technology.
August 2018:
DJ-Tech commissions us with distribution for the entire European mainland.
July 2019:
25 years of GSM-Multimedia! We celebrate a quarter century of market leadership and thank all customers for their trust.
September 2019:
Exclusive distribution of Gemini DJ for Germany and Austria.
May 2021:
Recordcase.de is awarded by COMPUTER BILD and Statista as one of the official “Trend Shops 2021”. The award goes to the most dynamic and fastest growing online shops in Germany – proof of our continuous expansion.
December 2024:
As part of an extensive consumer survey, Recordcase.de is awarded by ntv and the German Institute for Service Quality (DISQ) as Customer Favorite 2024. In the “Electronics Retailer” category, we secure the overall victory among 41 providers – impressive proof of our customers’ trust and recommendation rate.
March 2025:
A new highlight: Recordcase.de is awarded by ntv and DISQ as “Best Online Shop 2025” in the DJ equipment category. This renowned award underlines our leading market position and our promise to continue offering DJs, producers and music enthusiasts across Europe top quality and excellent service.
